music, sweet music

Well, I've been tagged. Sara has challenged me to complete the following music question-thingie. So here goes.

1.) Last CD you bought...

Hmmm… bought, you say? So I guess my downloads don’t count here. Okay, the last CD I purchased with money was Rotten Apples: The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits. I had an urge to hear Cherub Rock… I must’ve listened to it for about a week straight after I bought it.

2.) Last song listened to before this message...

Modest Mouse, Ocean Breathes Salty. Loving this song!!!

3.) 5 songs you listen to a lot or mean something to you...

Lemme preface this by saying that this is one HARD question, because my music choices change with my mood. But in the words of the great Ben Stein, “I shall try my best.” I’m going to list the 5 songs that I’ve been listening to a lot lately.

The Beatles, If I Fell
It’s all about the harmonies, baby. And who doesn’t love the Beatles?

The Beach Boys, God Only Knows
It’s bouncy and sweet and touching all at the same time. And again, the harmonies!

Damien Rice, The Blower’s Daughter
I had a near-obsession with this song when it was featured in the commercial for the movie “Closer.” I had no clue who sang it or what it was called. Luckily, one of my co-workers knew exactly which song I meant, and I downloaded it immediately. LOVE IT!

Foo Fighters, Everlong
Quite possibly the most perfect song ever written. Ever.

Elliott Smith, Twilight
Almost wore the CD out playing this one. If you don’t know it, make it your mission to acquaint yourself with it. You can thank me later.

Shoot. That’s five already. Okay, if I could have 5 more, they’d be songs by Ben Folds, Self, Rufus Wainwright, Radiohead, Coldplay. And Weezer. Damnit, I forgot Weezer!!! Can I start over?

This is officially too difficult for me.

4.) Who am I going to pass this stick to?

No clue yet.

Hey, can I add another question? Four doesn’t seem like enough.

5.) Last 5 songs you downloaded…

Scissor Sisters, Take Your Mama Out

Rachael Yamagata, Letter Read

The Hollies, Bus Stop

Jimmy Eat World, Pain

Damien Rice, Amie

Dree-Excellent choices. I also adore "God Only Knows". Weird.
I am a fan of Twilight. You probably couldn't tell from my post, but I think we have similar musical taste.
