So far, this has seemed like the longest week of my life. The days are long, the kids are tired & listless, the weather is unbearably muggy and hot. It's not a good combination.
But we're all hanging in there. Barely. Next week will be better, for sure, and once the weather cools off and the kids get used to being back in school, things will run much more smoothly.
As always, they are keeping me amused with the things they say. One young lady impressed me earlier this week with her "big word" (logical). Today I started my list of million dollar words, and I asked her to tell the class what "logical" means. Her definition is as follows: "You know, like when there's a mystery... Some things are logical, and some things are not logical."
And overheard this afternoon was this delightful gem of a conversation exchanged between two boys sharpening their pencils by my desk:
Boy One: We've been friends a looooong time.
Boy Two: Yeah. Remember in kindergarten?
Boy One: (shakes his head as he fondly recalls days gone by) Old times, old times.
Boy Two: (nods in agreement) Good times.
I swear to you, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

Thank you for that. I snorted I laughed so hard.
I hope you have better days ahead.
I love it!
