Faculty meeting, and other things

Today the kids had off so we could have our October faculty meeting. Usually meeting days are fairly stress free... we get to come in an hour later, we can wear whatever we want, and we order pizza for lunch. Not too shabby.

Since we are a low-income Catholic school, we have access to a resource center that provides us with inservices and training for teachers, as well as a "Make and Take" room. It's a huge room filled with laminating machines, die cut machines, construction paper, poster board, and a million other various stationery supplies. They have project ideas posted all over the room so that teachers can come in and make things for their classroom (posters, games, decorations). And it's all free for us. It is the most fabulous resource available to us. I go at least once a month. Since we didn't have much on the agenda for our meeting, our principal made an appointment for all 10 teachers to go to Make and Take. I made and I took. :)

So tomorrow it's back to work. While it's nice to have a Monday off from teaching, it means I have to cram 5 days of work into 4 days. We'll see how that goes.
