My weekend

Hello, all! I'm back from my weekend in New York. The bachelorette party was fun - a bit wild at times, but nothing too raunchy. The bride-to-be and her family have a summer house in Fire Island (a barrier island off of Long Island), and we stayed there for the weekend. If you've never been there (or never heard of it, as I hadn't, before I met the bride-to-be in college), it's quite an experience. You have to get there by boat - there are no cars on the island, except for emergency vehicles. People walk or ride bikes everywhere, and if they have to transport anything, they use wagons.

Her family's house is on the bay side, but it's a mere two minute walk to the beach on the other side of the island. I've been going out there every summer for about 6 years to visit my friend, and we always have a blast. Instead of posting pics of the party and all it's debauchery, I thought I'd share some of the island's scenery with you.

Here are some boats in the bay at Sunken Forest.

Some neat looking trees.

The bay. Check out the sand color... I've never seen anything like that before!

One of the beautiful sunsets on the bay (which you can see from the back porch of her house).

Can you beat that for scenery?

As for the party... we danced, drank, ate way too much, got some color, and celebrated with the bride-to-be. All in all, a fabulous weekend!
